What is a Ratti?
Ratti is a traditional Indian unit of weight, originally the weight of a single Gunja (Abrus precatorius) seed. It is still used to describe gemstone weights in Jyotish. Because two standards exist, a "5 Ratti" stone can mean about 4.55 carat (gem-trade) or about 3.04 carat (Sunari) — so always confirm which one a seller uses.
